US Paratroopers were elite soldiers who were part of the Allied invasion of Normandy, also known as D-Day.
They were members of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, specially trained and equipped for airborne assault missions.
On the night of June 5th, 1944, the paratroopers were dropped behind enemy lines in Normandy, France, with the goal of securing key targets and disrupting enemy communications and defenses.
They faced heavy resistance from German forces, including anti-aircraft fire and ground troops, but managed to secure their objectives and pave the way for the invasion force to come ashore on the morning of June 6th.
The paratroopers’ bravery and skill played a crucial role in the success of the Normandy invasion and contributed to the eventual Allied victory in World War II.
